Seek This Jesus
A reading and study of the life of Christ — a harmony of the four Gospels in the Restoration Edition, read beside the King James baseline, with attributed commentary gathered beneath each section.
What this is
Seek This Jesus sets the life of Christ in order: the events of the four Gospels (and the Testimony of St. John) woven into a single chronological harmony, following the Gospel & Messiah Harmonies. Each section presents the Restoration Edition (RE) reading beside the King James (KJV) baseline, marks the substantive Joseph Smith Translation (JST) changes, and gathers attributed commentary — revelations, Joseph Smith's letters, and later witnesses — below the text.
Why three layers
The King James Version is the baseline most readers know. The Restoration Edition restores the text Joseph Smith recovered through revelation, and modernizes the English so it can be read aloud without friction. Placing the two side by side, and marking only the substantive JST changes, lets a reader see exactly where the restored text departs from the received one — and read the result as a single, clear account.
Who it is for
Anyone who wants to read the Gospels closely: to follow the life of Christ as one story, to see the witness of the prophets behind it, and to weigh the changes the Restoration makes — with the sources named and linked, never hidden.
How to read it
The reading conventions — what is marked, the three modes, the order of commentary — are set out on the How to Read this Edition page. The sources the project draws on are listed under Resources. Longer reflections live in the Essays.
