The Call of the Four Fishermen

By the Sea of Galilee, Jesus calls two pairs of brothers away from their nets and their father’s boat (“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”), and they go immediately, without recorded hesitation.

Note. Matthew and Mark tell this call almost identically; the JST’s only additions (Matthew) make explicit what the brothers believed and whom they were following.

? How to read this edition

The reading is the Joseph Smith Translation, in the text of the Covenant Christian Edition, carried beside each Gospel and set against the King James baseline. Headers give both numbering systems: the CCE chapter and verse, and the traditional KJV reference.

Burgundy: Covenant Christian Edition. Where the CCE’s reading departs from the King James but the change is not in the Joseph Smith Translation manuscript (e.g. “this day I have begotten you” at the baptism). And he called them. 22And they immediately left the ship and their father, their father in the ship and followed him.
